February is here, and Valentine’s day is in hot pursuit. Whether your style is comfy casual, sophisticated chic, or somewhere in between you can’t go wrong with a cute pair of heart shape earrings and a heart pin to complement your look. Using just a few affordable supplies it’s possible to get a headstart on your Vday style game. If you’re subscribed to this blog you just might have a chance at being ahead of the game. Read all the way to the end on this one. Trust me you don’t want to miss out.
- Pre-cut Wooden Hearts
- Acrylic Paint
- Paint Brushes
- Earring Backs & Pin Clip Thingies
- Adhesive (wood friendly)
First I adhered all the earring back posts and pin clips to the wooden hearts. I adhered the earring backs to the smaller hearts and the pin clips to the larger hearts. I allowed the glue to dry for about an hour before I went back to begin painting.
The easiest way to paint all the tiny heart earrings is to stick them all onto a piece of styrofoam. I improvised and gave my styrofoam mannequin head a new do for the day. Holding the earring post between my fingers, I painted the face of each heart, then painted the edges of each heart while it was secured on the styrofoam.
The heart pins were a bit more easy to maneuver for painting. I held them by their pins, and painted each heart the same way.
If you’re making a couple of pairs for yourself this project takes about 2 hours. It took me a bit longer for a very good reason. I just had to make three complete sets (one pair of earrings in each color and a heart pin) for three of my luvs here on the blog. Luvmika.com is where it’s at!
All you have to do to win a set is be a subscriber of this blog (subscribe via email in the sidebar) and comment “I luv this DIY” below this post.
